Well last night Keara and I decided to go see A New Found Glory in Providence RI @ Lupos. We were aware it was sold out, but our hopes were high. Paid at the door and went right in.
We missed the first two bands. We had the pleasure of suffering through some band called "A Day to Remember." Apparently the rest of the crowd loved them, but as Keara said (which I back) "What a pile of Metalcore shit!"
After Underoath I mean AD2R played NFG hit the stage.
Blackberry Curve cameras are only capable of so much. When Keara asked me to go to the show I assumed that this tour would be packed with their songs from "International Superheroes of Hardcore." While "Tip of the Iceberg" is an okay song, I was not at all excited for them to sing "madballs got our back" or any of the other songs. However I'm usually down to do anything if it distracts me from doing my homework and this was no exception.
Needless to say I wasn't prepared for such a good set list.
At least I'm known for Something

Better Off Dead
Catalyst
Something I call Personality

At the End of a Day,
I can only be me.
the light is leaving and it's hard to breathe
buried in a pile of leaves"
Her Movez seems rather perplexed as to why or how people at sbux always seem at ease and appear to have all this "free time" to sip & lounge.
Well my answer (being an AM and occassionally a PM lounger myself) is set your alarm an hour early. Therefore you convert an hour you could be zzzing in your life into an hour spent waking up with ease.
Anyways,
A Fall Themed Playlist
for a Fall Themed Oliver!
Matt Pond PA- So much Trouble
"i don't think i want to think about it
how the fall is coming downthe light is leaving and it's hard to breathe
buried in a pile of leaves"
Northstar- Chesterfield King (Jawbreaker Cover)
Death Cab For Cutie- Photobooth
Vanessa Carlton- White Houses
JoJo- Anything
(Not fall themed, but certainly fun to listen to while walking. It puts an extra spring in your step generating energy, producing heat, cutting out the brisk air).
Leona Lewis- Better in Time
Duffy- Hangin' on too long
A Fine Frenzy- You Picked Me
Nada Surf- Always Love
Legion Of Doom- Dottie in a Car Crash
Gaslight Anthem- Red at Night
Band of Horses- The Great Salt Lake
The Good Life- Album of the Year
Taking Back Sunday- Great Romances of the 20th Century
Pedro The Lion- When They Really Get To Know You They Will Run
I got caught in the rain tonight, it was beautiful. :) I didn't mind at all.
This was Fall of 02, Esther and I loved our shoes. Here we are again walking through Halie's woods with her dogs in Hampden.
cya bye.

Just That Much Further West
Well it's getting colder (and we're getting distant) I love how in the 10 day Forecast the max temperature is 73 degreez. Cold weather always reminds me of outerwear (of course a solution to uncomfortable shivers and goose bump invasions) needless to say I have broken out my knitting needles. The progress of this project will be documented on this very page.
A finished product for sure in no time flat! It will be white as you can see with light pink stripes. Or maybe deep purple if I can snag some yarn in time.
Her Movez used to love him, had the Pearl Harbor Flick poster and everything. I bet she finds his style repulsive in the photo above. TOO BAD, I love it.
Halloween is in OVER A MONTH! Better get your thinking caps on! I've thought about being this guy : Emma killed it last year by being Princess Jasmine, she had a magic carpet and everything!
Like I said there is still time to plan, but don't be that kid who cuts two eyeholes in a sheet and calls themself a ghost. Cause JC and I already used that in 05.
Time to make the donuts CYA!

Cardigan Weather...
Well Almost.
The Master Key chromatic pitch pipe is the ultimate instrument for obtaining exact musical pitch over the entire chromatic scale with its' 13 hand tuned, special bronze reeds (which are precision tuned and double checked to A-440). Proper note selection is assured as the scale is arranged in sequence and clearly marked by embossed notations on both the top and bottom covers of the pitch pipe. This pitch pipe is available in two versions - a C to C version, and an F to F version. They both cover the entire chromatic scale, so either will work for anyone, but some uses have traditionally used one or the other. Our local barbershop quartets tend to prefer the F to F version. For safety reasons, this and other products intended to be placed in the mouth are not returnable.
I made an attempt to film my first show... A tripod is suggested for anyone ever thinking of filming themselves. I decided one wouldn't be necessary and simply set it atop my jewelry box. Well the camera was brutally attacked by my wood floor when it lens was thrown into it. So now I have a camera...with a bent piece. Once time and money can arrange a proper date to meet and catch up on old times I can and hopefullyl get this fixed and realigned.
Untill then this is a good excuse to get going on maps and templates that I'm going to admit were not even close to being finished or even ever started at all.
This past Saturday night I saw Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids acoustic at Harpers Ferry in Allston. The Get Up Kids are long gone- and have "Stay(ed) Gone) but Pryor has not. He has since continued his side Project "The New Amsterdams" his Childrens Album "The Terrible Two's" and has just released his first solo album. Pryor played an array of song from all but "Terrible Twos" which he had played earlier to a group of kids earlier that rather rainy day.
Overall a good time, when you have hit's such as "Mass Pike" to fall back on as a musician you really can't fail. So the crowd suffered through the songs no one knew, and enjoyed The New Amsterdams hits being played, but everyone knew that durring the four GUK''s songs he played was most likely the only time everyone was fully enthused.
Kevin Devine opened up for Pryor, I've previously seen him open up for Lucero and duet with Jesse Lacey of Brand New. I would love to see this guy headline a tour, and it seemed like Devine had a much greater capture of the crowd than Pryor. It actually seemed as if half the crowd emptied out once Devine played never to return. Interesting.
Upcoming Shows:
The Walkmen @ Middle East 9/18
Gaslight Anthem @ Palladium 10/6
Ben Nichols Acoustic (Lucero) @ Middle East 10/9
Billy Bragg @ Somerville Theater 10/22
Where is Rocky Votolato?
